Meet The Highland Park Endodontists

Larry R. Farsakian, D.D.S.

Highland Park Endodontist, Root Canal Specialist, Dr Larry FarsakianDr. Larry Farsakian, Highland Park Endodontist, is a graduate of California State University, Fresno where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in 1978. He obtained his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago in 1984. He then completed a one-year dental residency in the General Practice Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center from 1984-85.

Upon completion of his dental training, he returned to his hometown of Visalia, California to practice general dentistry from 1985-1988.

He then returned to Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago to obtain his Certificate in Endodontics in 1990.

He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Endodontics at Loyola University School of Dentistry from 1988-93 and as endodontic consultant to the General Practice Residency Program at Loyola Medical Center from 1990-93. He currently holds the position of part-time faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery acting as the Endodontic Consultant to the General Practice Residency Program in the Department of Dentistry at Loyola Medical Center.

He has been lecturing nationally for Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialties since 1999 on endodontics and rotary instrumentation. He also has presented lectures at the Chicago Midwinter Dental Meeting and for local study groups and dental societies since 1992.

He has been in the private practice of endodontics since 1990 and has been a part of Highland Park Endodontics, Ltd. since 1992.

Dr. Farsakian is past president of the Illinois Association of Endodontists from 2003-2004.

Dr. Farsakian enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He enjoys working around his house, fixing things and especially doing yard work. He is an active and respected member of the Armenian community of Chicago.

Lauren M. Allegretti, D.D.S., M.S.

Highland Park EndodontistDr. Lauren Allegretti grew up in Park Ridge, IL graduating from Maine South High School. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish in 2010 graduating Summa cum Laude.

Dr. Allegretti continued her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry receiving her dental degree in 2014.

While in dental school, her honors included the Dr. Donald McElroy Endodontics Award, the Dr. Adalbert L Vlazny Award for Clinical Excellence, and the Dr. William Starek Award for Academic Excellence. She was admitted to the honors societies of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Beta Kappa. She was involved in the Chicago Dental Society as class representative and was the historian for Delta Sigma Delta.

She had an interest in endodontics throughout dental school having received the Donald L. McElroy Endodontics award. Dr. Allegretti returned to University of Illinois at Chicago to obtain her Masters of Oral Sciences degree and her Certificate of Specialty in Endodontics completing both degrees in 2016.

Her Masters research involved the use of three-dimensional imaging to evaluate healing of maxillary posterior teeth after endodontic microsurgery when the sinus also is affected.

Dr. Allegretti is an active member of the

Dr. Allegretti is currently studying to become a Diplomate (board-certified member) of the American Board of Endodontics.

In her free time, she enjoys running, yoga, and catching up with friends.

In addition, she is fluent in Spanish.
